Style in Literature

The chapter is mainly of the style that literature has, what kind of text is, the function that it has, and how, depending of our emotions, the responses to these texts tend to be, in this paper explain all about poetry and how you mind needs to be for you to understand it and identify what kind of text is it.
Also talks about the genre of texts, and the characteristics of poetry.

Introduction

When we see a text we know what kind of text it is because we see the genre that it has, like when we see a newspaper we know what kind of language is going to be, also when we see a menu we know what kind of text is it.
In this paper I´m talking about poetry that unlike a newspaper, this one is a literary text, for us to read poetry we need to be already familiar with the different kinds of texts, for us to recognize it and know what kind of language we need to have.
There are several characteristics in the language of poetry and they are:
·        Meaning is often ambiguous and elusive
·        It may flout the conventional rules of grammar, etc.
The most important thing of poetry is its function, which it is a very difficult thing to answer. Although it says that its function is that poetry “has no relation to our socially established world conventions”, because, it is detached from the real life.
Poetry invites and motivates readers to make an imaginary alternative world, for them to escape from the reality the live every day, to feel better, so poetry´s function is not socializing, is individualizing.
Readers need to be cleverer to be able to read poetry because it has a formal language and depending of our perception are the responses that we´re going to have.

Conclusion

So we´ve seen that poetry has a formal language and not everybody can read that kind of text, at least that is what I think.
Also the responses to these texts are very different from person to person, because everybody thinks differently and for that the responses to poetry can be so different.
I myself have read a text of this kind but I think that it is hard, for someone who has no experience with poetry, to read one.
And there´s not only one answer to literature because everybody  has their own point of view very differently than others, and only the right meaning of literature exists in the mind of the writer.
